General Gynaecology And Colposcopy
Gynaecology is the branch of medicine that deals with the health of the female reproductive system. This includes everything from menstrual irregularities and infertility to cancers of the ovaries, uterus and cervix. Colposcopy is a procedure used to examine the vagina, cervix and vulva for signs of disease or injury. It’s a common follow-up test for women who have abnormal Pap smears.
The main goal of a colposcopy is to determine if there are any abnormal cells on your cervix. If abnormal cells are found, your doctor will recommend treatment.
